Women's Sleepwear falls into two main categories - nightgowns and pajamas. Chemises and Short (above-the-knee) Nightgowns are in the Chemise Department. Sleeveless short chemises are listed first, followed by short-sleeved short nightgowns and the chemise offerings are concluded with long-sleeved short chemise nightgowns. Waltz, Ballet and Long Nightgowns are grouped in the Nightgown Department and are organized by sleeve length. Sleeveless nightgowns are first - waltz (below the knee) length followed by long or ballet nightgowns.. For example, sleeveless waltz-length nightgowns are followed by sleeveless long nightgowns, then short sleeve nightgowns in waltz to ballet length. As you scroll through our nightgown selection, the long sleeve long ballet nightgowns can be found at the end. Because we have found that different women prefer different sleepwear fabrics, we offer nightgowns and chemises in woven cotton, pima or brushed interlock knit nightgowns, nylon nightgowns, cotton flannel nightgowns, satin charmeuse and brush back satin nightgowns - our nightgowns are lovely and comfortable. CHEMISE
Some women select chemises as their sleepwear of choice... others wear a chemise as a fun, cool or sensual occasional alternative to other forms of women's sleepwear. It appears that there is not one tried and true definition of chemise, but in general, experts seem to agree that it is sleeveless and short falling above the knee. Often a chemise will rest at mid-thigh. At Serene Comfort, our chemise offerings will generally fall above the knee for an average woman. Some of our short sleeveless nightgowns are in the nightgown department instead of the chemise department; so if you are interested in a chemise or short nightgown, please visit both departments.
